The Veronica Valley Park is a 93 acre Leelanau County Public Park that is controlled and managed by the County's Parks and Recreation Committee as a passive activities facility with hiking trails and kids fishing ponds. The park was formerly a nine hole golf course. Annually in the latter part of June is the Veronica Valley Park Kids Fishing Day when the fishing ponds have been stocked by the Michigan DNR. Trails through the park are groomed in winter to provide for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Future improvements are planned to provide for chipped trails and boardwalks over wetland area with scenic view platforms.
